Ministry Partners

University of Dubuque Campus Ministry

St. Paul is registered as a “Covenant Partner” congregation with UD. The partnership involves commitments from our church to the University and from the University to the church.

St. Paul’s Commitment to UD Campus Ministry

Understand – become familiar with Campus Ministry’s mission, values, and vision and wholeheartedly support it any way we can. (Note: UD is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. While we do not agree on all doctrinal points, we are able to offer wholehearted support in our desire to see students grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and knowledge of God’s Word.)

Relate – to strive in our congregation to connect students with mentors or families that would be a place of support and guidance for them.

Care – Consider how to care for the students who are in our midst or those not yet known to us.

Pray – for students and the transformational work of the gospel on UD’s campus and in our congregation.

Invite – Invite students to use their gifts in the life of the church.

UD’s Campus Ministry’s Commitment to St. Paul

Understand – become familiar with our church’s theology and then be wholeheartedly supportive of our congregation, recommending it to students as a “Covenant Partner.”

Pray – for our congregation and highlight ministry opportunities.

Preach – Covenant partner church’s pastors are invited to preach a minimum of one chapel per year.

Connect – Pastors of covenant partners are given a University ID, parking permit, access to the library and sporting events and recognized as volunteer chaplains.

Assess – To mutually evaluate the relationship annually after each school year.

We are thrilled that UD has invited us into this partnership and we pray that God would use it for his purposes and to his glory.

Zach Barz

Serving the Lord in Costa Rica

Zach lives on the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica in the town of Parrita, where God has given him relationships with neighbors, teens, and other local ministries to engage in Gospel proclamation. He works with LightHouse Transformation Ministries, an organization that offers educational opportunities to teens and their communities in the Parrita area with the goal of cultivating meaningful relationships, developing leaders, facilitating social progress, and proclaiming the message of the Gospel. Zach and his ministry partners currently work on a volunteer basis in the local public high school of Parrita, where they offer English classes and other fun educational activities in addition to connecting intentionally with teens outside of school.

St. Paul has been proud to support Zach through giving and prayer. It is always a delight when he visits us to share what God is doing through his team in Costa Rica. To learn more about Zach and how to support his ministry, visit his page at Mission of Christ Network.
