Confirmation

Confirmation is an opportunity for young people to be instructed in the basic teachings of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and publicly confess their commitment to remain steadfast in the faith entrusted to them in their baptisms. Confirmation at St. Paul is a 4-year process that begins when a child’s parents and pastor feel they are ready to begin instruction. Most commonly, this has been from 5th through 8th grade. High school youth entering the church should also consult with the pastor and their own family to decide whether youth confirmation or adult instruction is more suitable. Confirmands will normally be invited to receive First Holy Communion following the completion of this course of instruction. An information and enrollment session is held at the church every year on the first Wednesday after Labor Day.
