Women of St. Paul

The Women of St. Paul includes All of the women of our church. Some are active in the Women of St. Paul Circle or the Ruth Circle, the Altar Guild, and/or the Cover Girls (quilt makers).

All of our church women are welcome and encouraged to be active in something. The Women of St. Paul meets in the Fellowship Hall the second Monday of each month at 7:00PM. We have a Bible study, short business meeting, and a program. Our big money maker for each year is our Turkey Day in November where we serve turkey and dressing sandwiches and pie, have a rummage sale and a bake sale. Some of our other projects include participating in the LWML weekend service, preparing the meal or the dessert for the Reformation Service, making a meal for the Dubuque Rescue Mission, collecting mites for our Iowa East and national grants and serving “ Munchies for Mites” once a month to help with our mite collection, collecting food for the food pantry, ordering lilies and poinsettias, decorating the church for Easter and Christmas, taking care of the flower chart for altar flowers and delivering flowers to our shut-ins, collecting items for layettes for Lutheran World Relief and sewing quilts for Lutheran World Relief, raising money for camperships, and serving funeral dinners. We keep the Prayer Chain active throughout the year and we collect items for the Ready Set Recycle program to raise monies for the 2015 LWML National Convention in Des Moines. Some of our ladies attend the spring and fall zone rallies and go to the Iowa East Conventions and the LWML national conventions. We have ladies who are involved in the Finley Hospital Auxiliary and Luther Manor Auxiliary as well.

Belonging is a good way to get to know other women from St. Paul, to better understand what’s happening within our church, and to feel a sense of belonging as “We Serve the Lord with Gladness”.
